Introduction
The Bihar Combined Entrance Competition Examination also known as BCECE is the qualifying examination that you will have to crack to gain admission in Engineering colleges or Universities in Bihar. The Government of Bihar conducts the BCECE every year, as per the Competitive Examination Act of 1995. Apart from Engineering, this examination can also be taken by students who wish to pursue graduation level courses such as Vocational Courses in Engineering, Medical, Pharmaceutical, Agriculture and Dairy Technology in Bihar and in those situated outside Bihar.

BCECE Eligibility
Eligibility criteria for BCECE is that the students should have completed their 12th standard or any other equivalent examination conducted by the Government of Bihar. If the student is planning to pursue engineering course, then he/she should have passed their 12th standard with the following subjects — Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. There is no minimum age limit restriction for students who wish to pursue Engineering or Pharmacy stream. However students who intend to pursue Medical or Agriculture stream must be 17 years old. Those who wish to appear for BCECE examinations must be residents of Bihar State.
How to Apply for the BCECE?
The application form for BCECE will be available for sale in various centers from the second week of February to first week of March. It is however recommended that students check the official website of BCECE (http://bceceboard.com/) to know the exact dates of the sale of application and last date of submission.

You will need to send a Demand Draft along with a self-addressed envelope (size 27 cm. x 18 cm). You will need to check the official website of BCECE Board (http://bceceboard.com) to find out the exact amount for which the DD needs to be taken. The Demand Draft needs to be in the name of “Controller of Examination, BCECE Board” and it must be issued by a nationalized bank and must be payable at Patna.
Please read through the application form carefully before filling it in. The application form will be sent along with a prospectus, which will contain precise details about the documents that need to be enclosed with the application form.
Once the application form is completed, you will need to send it to the Board by either Speed Post or Registered Post to the following address –

Completed application forms must be sent to the above-mentioned address by second week of March.
BCECE Pattern
The BCECE exam syllabus is based on the HSC (12th standard) syllabus of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The examination is of three-hour duration where one hour each can covered for each subject. Students who are applying for Medical and Agriculture will have to study for Biology as well. The language of the question paper will be English medium.
Examination is normally held in two stages for Engineering and Medical students. The exact dates of the examination will be updated in the official website of BCECE (http://bceceboard.com/).
BCECE Admit Card
Students who are eligible for BCECE will be intimated and they can download the admit card from the official website http://bceceboard.com by entering the following information — Registration Number, Application Number, Roll No, Name and Date of Birth. After downloading the admit card, you will be required to print it. In case of discrepancies you will be required to bring it to the BCECE Board’s notice before the examination.
BCECE Counseling and Admission
The Results for BCECE will be published online in their official website – http://bceceboard.com during the month of June or July. Date of the interview and counseling will be given against each Roll number and category. You will be required to appear for a personal interview with your 12th original marksheet and other documents.
