Introduction
Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka — Under Graduate Entrance Test, popularly known as COMEDK-UGET is the qualifying entrance examination that the students will have to crack to gain admission in the private and unaided, Medical, Engineering and Dental colleges in Karnataka.
COMEDK-UGET Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria for COMEDK-UGET examination is that the student should have passed their 12th standard or any other equivalent examination that is recognized by the Government. Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English are mandatory subjects that the student should have studied in his or her 11th and 12th standard.
Students who wish to appear for COMEDK-UGET should also have scored a minimum of 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology. And students belonging to the SC/ST category must have secured a minimum of 40% in subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

How to Apply for the COMEDK-UGET?
Online Application
Students who wish to apply for the COMEDK-UGET examination can do it online – http://www.comedk.org/uget. It is however recommended that they read the application form very carefully before submitting it since they cannot change any data once the form is submitted.
A preview option is available for the students to preview the application form after it is filled in. Click on it and preview the entire application form to ensure that there are no mistakes. Once the application form is completed, click on the Submit button and take print out of the form.
An application number will be provided for each applicant, which can be used to view or print the application form at any point of time. The application form will need to be sent in an A4 Size envelope to COMEDK office along with the required documents. (Note: The contents of the envelope should not be folded)
Along with the application form, the following documents need to be enclosed — Demand Draft, Printed Online Date of Birth, 10th standard mark sheet, Caste Certificate (SC/ST, OBC (Category I, IIA, IIB, IIIA and IIIB), Minority Students (Christians)).
The Demand Draft should be drawn in favor of COMEDK and it must be payable in Bangalore. The amount for which DD needs to be taken is subject to change, hence it is best to check the website for the latest amount – http://www.comedk.org/uget. You will need to write the application form number, your complete name and contact number at the back of the DD.
You will also need to take a print out of the online date of birth or identity proof and attest it with the signature and seal of the head of the institution where you studied last or of any gazetted officer.
Students belonging to SC/ST category should also include their caste certificate along with the application form. Students belonging to OBC (Category I, IIA, IIB, IIIA and IIIB) should also submit their caste certificate and income certificate along with their application form.
Minority students belonging to religious (Christian) of All India / Linguistic (Tulu/Telugu/Konkani) should also include a caste certificate with their application form.

COMEDK-UGET Test Pattern
COMEDK-UGET examination has two papers. A combined paper of Physics and Chemistry, which is compulsory and a paper on Mathematics, which is compulsory for students who wish to seek admission in Engineering college.
The combined paper of Physics and Chemistry will have 120 questions with 60 questions for each subject. The duration of this paper will be 120 minutes. The Mathematics paper will have 60 questions for duration of 60 minutes. Students who are planning to apply for medical college will need to compulsorily take the Biology paper.
COMEDK-UGET paper will have objective type questions for which the answer should be marked in the OMR (Optical Mark Reader) answer paper.
Each question carries one mark and there will be no negative marking for wrong answer.
COMEDK-UGET Exam Syllabus
The exam syllabus for COMEDK-UGET will be based on the 12th standard curriculum.
COMEDK-UGET Admit Card
Students who have applied for COMEDK-UGET should periodically check the official website – http://www.comedk.org/uget to learn the status of their application.
Candidates who are selected to appear for the examination will receive their admit card through Speed Post. Students who do not receive their admit card should inform the COMEDK office for duplicate admit card.
The print out of the admit card and the original Date of Birth or Identity proof need to be produced while appearing for the examination at the exam center. The exam center issued in the admit card is based on the candidate’s choice the COMEDK office will not entertain any requests for change of center. Details of the exam center, timing and the address will be provided in the admit card and also in the official website.
