Introduction to the EAMCET

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh conducts the Engineering, Agriculture and Medicine Common Entrance Test popularly known, as EAMCET entrance examination every year for students who wish to gain admission in Engineering and Pharmaceutical colleges in Andhra Pradesh. Professional courses for which EAMCET can be attempted are the following – BE, B. Tech, B. Tech (Agricultural Engineering), B. Tech (Dairy Technology), B. Tech (FST), BSc (CA & BM), (MPC)/B.Pharm(MPC)/Pharm-D(MPC)


Eligibility Criteria for EAMCET

Students who wish to appear for EAMCET examinations must be Indian nationals and must belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh. They must also have passed their 12th standard examination or any other equivalent examination that is recognized by the Government in the following subjects – Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry (Applicable for students who wish to apply for engineering college).

It is also stipulated that those candidates who wish to take the examination should have completed 16 years of age during the examination.

How to Apply for EAMCET?

Students can apply for EAMCET through offline or online process. Before filling up the application form you will need to keep the following documents handy.

Enclosures

Mark sheet of 10+2 examination
Hall Ticket of 10+2 examination (Applicable for those students who have not received their 12th standard results yet)
Caste certificate (Applicable for students who belong to SC/ST)
Certificate of Proof of Age (Birth Certificate)
Proof of residence or Proof of study

Online Submission

To apply for EAMCET, you will need to login to the official website – http://www.apeamcet.org. You will need to purchase a Demand Draft before applying for the examination online. Students are requested to check the correct amount for which the DD needs to be taken from the website. The DD must be drawn in favor of A.P. State Council of Higher Education, Hyderabad.

The application form needs to be filled online as per the instructions given in their official website. You will be required to scan your signature and latest photograph and affix them in the application form. Once the application form is submitted, registration number will be generated which needs to be noted for future reference. After completing the entire process, please take print out of the filled application form. The application form and the required enclosures need to be sent in an A4 size cover along with the DD to the following address by registered post–

Offline Submission

Students who wish to submit the application form offline can purchase it from any e-seva centers in Andhra Pradesh. The application form can be purchased from all branches of Andhra Bank and from all head post offices in Andhra Pradesh.

Students are requested affix their latest photograph (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) in the application form. Students who submit their application form should pay a late fee in favor of Secretary, A.P. State Council of Higher Education and it must be payable in Hyderabad. If you are submitting the application form late, please check the official website to know the late fees amount -http://www.apeamcet.org.

Postal applicants are also requested to include the name of the regional center in their envelope. The application form needs to be sent to the above given address.

The acknowledgement card will be sent by post to the students along with the registration number. Students are requested to keep the acknowledgement card safe for future reference.

EAMCET Hall Ticket

Students who have applied for the EAMCET can collect their Hall Ticket in person from the regional centers that they have opted for in the application form. The acknowledgement card or the print out of the registration number (for online applicants) can be shown to collect the Hall Ticket.

EAMCET Test Pattern

The EAMCET Test will be on the following subjects – Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The entrance examination will be for a duration of 3 hours and there will be 160 questions overall in the question paper. 80 questions will be on mathematics, 40 questions will be physics and 40 more will be physics.

The exam pattern will be objective type of questions with multiple-choice answers.

EAMCET Syllabus

Syllabus for EAMCET is based on the 12th standard curriculum. It consists of Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology

EAMCET Results
The results of the EAMCET will be published in the official website – http://www.apeamcet.org. Students will be ranked for this examination according to the order of merit. The qualifying marks for the EAMCET examinations are 25%, which are 40 marks out 160. For SC/ST students no minimum marks are provided but their admission will depend on the availability of seats reserved SC/ST students.

Students are requested to visit the official website http://www.apeamcet.org for information regarding counseling and allotment of seats.
